2004 Paper 2 - Section 3

Find out about Treblinka on the InterNet. Did you know that it was one of a few concentration camps where the Jews revolted against the Nazis and escaped? Why did he mention this camp in 'A Disused Shed In County Wexford'? Could it relate to the mushrooms closest to the keyhole, the strongest ones who can see the light?

Find Plato's Republic in the library. Look up the analogy on The Cave. Look at what it says about people who live too long in darkness and seclusion. Then think about the mushrooms in 'A Disused Shed In County Wexford'.

Ask a religion teacher (or anybody who knows the Old Testament) about Ecclesiastes.

Find out about Erasmus and his quotation, 'In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king'.
